Job Description Job Description Downtown Austin law firm is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal. The firm represents clients in high-stakes, complex business disputes in venues across the country. The ideal candidate has experience as the lead trial paralegal with strong organizational abilities, and deep expertise in managing complex, high stakes cases from inception through post-trial. The firm offers a highly competitive compensation package. This includes base, bonus, annual raises, healthcare paid at 100%, parking, 401k with match and other perks. Some relocation assistance is available for thos not in Austin. Resume submittals should include trial experience as part of the resume or as an addendum. This can be round numbers of different types of trials (civil, PI, class action, etc.). Primary duties include: • Manage all aspects of litigation files, including document collection, organization, and maintenance throughout the case lifecycle. • Assist attorneys with drafting, proofreading, and cite-checking legal documents such as motions, briefs, witness lists, exhibit lists, trial binders, and pre-trial statements. Draft basic pleadings and notices. • Gather and prepare deposition and hearing exhibits. • Gather, finalize and transmit document productions. • Prepare for and attend hearings. • Coordinate and manage discovery, including drafting discovery requests/responses, reviewing production, and creating privilege logs. • Oversee e-discovery processes, including liaising with vendors, maintaining databases, and performing document review using litigation support platforms (e.g. Relativity). • Provide on-site and/or remote support during trial, including managing exhibits, demonstratives, transcripts, and witness logistics. • Prepare trial notebooks, exhibit binders, witness files, and case chronologies. • Coordinate with court personnel, experts, and witnesses to ensure smooth trial operations. • Develop timelines, case maps, and strategic summaries for attorney review. • Serve as a point of contact for clients, experts, investigators, and third parties. • Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and client meetings. • Prepare expert witness materials, engagement letters, and document sets. Qualifications and competencies: • 7 years of litigation paralegal experience, with substantial experience as lead paralegal. • Extensive experience preparing for and assisting at trials and arbitrations. • Advanced knowledge of civil procedure, court rules, and filing procedures (state and federal). • Proficiency with e-discovery databases (e.g. Relativity). • Ability to travel for trial and extended trial-site assignments. • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program. • Detail-Oriented: Maintains accuracy in fast-paced environments. • Strategic Thinker: Anticipates attorney needs and foresees litigation steps. • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with e-discovery, databases, and courtroom technology. • Team-Oriented: Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of attorneys, staff, clients, and outside partners. • Flexible & Adaptable: Able to shift quickly between tasks and handle unexpected trial demands.aa415a4b-8b21-40fc-a65c-70d2b25ca29a
