The Security Operations Center Specialist monitors and operates all security and safety systems, specified building management systems of the facilities and outdoor venues, and acts as the main communications link between Campus Security staff and outside emergency response operators. The Security Operations Center Specialist maintains an active and real-time awareness of the status of multiple facilities. This position monitors and assists with activities and events taking place in the buildings and on the grounds and is responsible for logging and reporting incidents so the appropriate personnel can respond. This position requires a team-oriented focus and the ability to work in an environment which may quickly move from relaxed to tense.
High School diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years of experience with security, surveillance agent, operator, or equivalent combination or work experience, training, and education required. Security dispatch, central station, or 911 operator experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Physically and mentally fit to respond to emergency situations as needed. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Highest ethics in all business aspects. Ability to understand and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality. Willingness and ability to learn and use specialized software. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other basic computer applications and systems. Committed to providing excellent customer service rooted in courtesy, respect, and approachability. Enthusiastic about contributing to the success of a major community center. Dedicated to continuous improvement and ongoing professional development.
