EHS Technician

Description:

As an EHS Technician, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving plant safety and maintaining safety documentation. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and implement Safety procedures and work instructions. You will also be responsible to safety training for the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Safety Audits – fire extinguishers, medicine cabinets, eyewash stations, exit doors, etc.…
  • Maintain OSHA logs.
  • Lead Safety training for the facility.
  • Maintain Training records.
  • Lead Safety meetings.
  • Lead facility in 5S activities from a Safety perspective.

You will also be involved in the following:

  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in manufacturing and safety.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Root Cause Analysis:
  • Conduct root cause analyses for safety issues.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to address identified root causes.
  • Data Analysis:
  • Analyze safety data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Generate reports and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of safety processes.
  • Provide guidance on safety matters to different teams.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of safety procedures, inspections, and audits.
  • Ensure documentation is in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Training:
  • Provide training to personnel on safety standards.
  • Foster a culture of quality and safety throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications in safety is a plus.
  • Proven experience in documentation handling or a related field.
  • Familiarity with quality control tools, equipment, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Safety procedures and protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and analyze safety issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey safety concerns and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools and equipment.
  • Understanding of industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
