Summary of Job Duties:The Mail & Shipping Assistant works under the supervision of the Mail & Shipping Supervisor and is responsible for assisting in the operations of a centralized mailing & shipping service center, logging and distribution of all express packages as they are received, as well as assisting with M&R as needed. This position is governed by department procedures and institution policy.

*Operates postage meter and shipping scale, weigh letters and parcels for postage as well as packages for UPS & FEDEX, and assures the lowest possible rate of shipping/mailing is used.

*Transports mail and Express packages requiring special handling with a quick and punctual turnaround.

*Sorts incoming mail and deliveries and place them in the proper boxes for deliveries.

*Prepares registered, certified, express mail, and at times UPS & FedEx for proper handling.

*Picks-up and delivers mail and shipments campus wide as well as to United States Post Office or express services box.

*Knowledge of mail/shipping rules and regulations.

*Operate a forklift to transport packages and lift 50lbs or more as needed.

*Utilize the package tracking system QTRAK.

*Performs related responsibilities as required or other duties as assigned.Qualifications:

Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50lbs.

Must have driver's license.
