Summary As an Administrative Officer assigned to the Human Resources Strategic Business Unit, responsibilities for administrative functions would include human resources management, budget and finance, management and program analysis, office support services, document control, logistics, and a variety of related administrative matters in support of a medical facility. Acting as the liaison between the Chief and subordinates, Chiefs of other services and other VISN and VHA facilities. Responsibilities Duties include: Directs administrative support services to ensure that inquiries, correspondence, and actions for the area of responsibility are addressed appropriately. Develops information papers and correspondence on wide variety of administrative functions. Reviews and evaluates completed staff actions. Assists the HR Specialist (Recruitment and Placement) and SSBP in manpower utilization program assuring recruitment and retention within approved ceilings are maintained. Implements administrative policies and procedures for facility-wide areas of responsibility. Reviews contracts and makes recommendation to management for continuing the need for contract services. Serves as the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) for all SBU contracts as it pertains to the facility. Performs the duties of Automatic Database Processing Coordinator (ADPAC) for the SBU. Manages the overall supply needs, services, material movement, and real property for the medical facility. Exercises human resources responsibility by initiating requests for recruitment and interviewing and selecting employees. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
